The 22 page fog primer is targeted towards beginner and intermediate landscape and nature photographers that want to know more about the unique challenges of shooting in fog. And I’m excited to share that as a first step, I have put together a free ebook called The Art of Fog. Have I mentioned I love it?Īs I continue on my journey as a professional landscape and nature photographer, I’ll now be including educational products in my suite of offerings. It calms me, focuses me, quiets me, slows me down. Fog negates that overwhelm - visually and metaphorically. I am easily overwhelmed, whether by visual clutter, general life stresses, or noise. In addition to this visual simplification, fog gives me a deep sense of inner calm. If I had to pick one condition to shoot in, it would absolutely be fog, any variety of fog, since the truth is that, as a resident of the Appalachian mountains, fog allows me to present an often visually chaotic and frequently dark landscape in a pared down, bright, and light way. Many people associate me with fog photography - probably because I go on (and on?) quite frequently about how much I love fog, and I’m constantly chasing it and sharing foggy images.
